What cookies are and why we use them
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your computer, tablet or phone. When you return to our site, your browser sends those files back, which lets us recognise your device, keep you signed in and remember choices you have already made. Similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage work in much the same way, and where this policy refers to cookies it means those technologies as well.
Some cookies are set by us and read only on our own pages. Others are set by the suppliers we work with, for example the companies that host our games, handle payments or measure how our pages perform. Cookies that last only until you close your browser are called session cookies; those that stay on your device for a set period are called persistent cookies. The lobby, the cashier and your account pages all rely on a mix of the two.
We use cookies to:
- Keep your session active as you move between the lobby, the cashier and your account, so that you do not have to sign in again on every page.
- Protect your account and our systems against fraud, unauthorised access and automated abuse by recognising unusual patterns of activity.
- Remember settings such as language, sound and the way you prefer pages to be displayed, so that we can show you the site the way you left it.
- Support the account checks we are required to carry out, including age and identity verification, by tracking which steps have been completed.
- Spot pages that load slowly or return errors, so that we can investigate and fix them before they affect more players.
- Measure how our advertising performs and avoid repeating the same message to you.
We hold a gaming licence, and part of that responsibility is making sure that only people aged 18 or over hold an account with us and that every account is verified. Cookies help us apply those controls consistently and help the safer gambling tools in your account work as they should.
The types of cookies we use
We group cookies into four categories. The cookie notice on the site uses the same grouping, so the choices you make there map directly onto what is described below.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are needed for the site to work. They keep you signed in, hold your place while a deposit is in progress, spread traffic across our servers and help us detect unusual activity on an account. They also let us recognise when a time-out or self-exclusion applies, so that a paused or closed account is not simply reopened in a new browser window. Because the site cannot operate safely without them, these cookies are set when you visit and cannot be turned off in the cookie notice.
Performance and analytics cookies
These tell us how the site is used in aggregate: which pages are opened, how long they take to load, where a journey such as registration or a deposit is abandoned, and which error messages appear most often. The reports we see describe groups of visitors rather than named individuals, and we use them to decide what to fix and what to simplify.
Functionality cookies
These remember the choices you make so that you do not have to make them again, such as the language you selected, whether you asked us to hide a notice, how your balance is displayed and whether game sound is on. If you block them the site still works, but it will forget those preferences on every visit.
Marketing cookies
These help us measure whether our advertising reaches the right people. They can record that you arrived from a particular advertisement, limit how often a message is shown to you, and let us leave existing account holders out of campaigns meant for new players. Some are set by the advertising suppliers we work with, which means those suppliers may also use them on other sites they serve. We do not use marketing cookies to target anyone who is registered with a self-exclusion scheme or who has asked us to stop sending promotional material.
| Category | Typical purpose | Set by default |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Signing in, cashier sessions, security, safer gambling controls | Yes, cannot be turned off |
| Performance and analytics | Page speed, error reporting, aggregated usage figures | Only with your consent |
| Functionality | Language, display and sound preferences | Only with your consent |
| Marketing | Advertising measurement and frequency control | Only with your consent |
How to manage your cookie choices
You control every category apart from strictly necessary cookies, and you can change your mind at any time.
In the cookie notice on this site
- The notice appears the first time you visit, and you can reopen it later from the cookie settings control in the footer of any page.
- Choose which categories to allow. Each one is described in the notice itself.
- Save your choice. It is stored in a cookie so that we can apply it on your next visit.
- To change it, open the notice again and update the categories.
- Withdrawing consent stops further cookies in that category being set. It does not remove cookies already on your device, so clear those in your browser as well.
In your browser settings
Every current browser lets you manage cookies yourself. Depending on the browser, you can:
- See which cookies are stored and delete some or all of them from your device at any time.
- Block all cookies entirely, or block only those set by third parties while still allowing cookies from the sites you visit directly.
- Clear cookies automatically each time you close the browser, so that nothing carries over from one browsing session to the next.
- Use a private or incognito window, which discards cookies at the end of the session.
These options are usually found under settings, then privacy and security. The exact steps differ between browsers and between versions, so use the browser's own help pages if you cannot find them. Settings apply per browser and per device, so a change made on a laptop does not carry over to a phone.
What happens if you block or delete cookies
Blocking strictly necessary cookies stops parts of the site working. Blocking the other categories has smaller effects, and you can still play and use your account.
- You may be unable to sign in, or you may be signed out when you move from one page to another.
- A deposit or withdrawal may fail partway through, because the cashier cannot keep track of the step you reached.
- Games may not load, or may not return you to the right place if your connection drops.
- The site will forget your language, display and sound preferences on every visit.
- Security checks may treat your device as new each time, which can mean extra verification steps.
- Advertising you see elsewhere may be less relevant to you, although you will not see less of it.
Clearing cookies mid-session
Deleting cookies while a game is open can end your session. Finish the round first, then clear your browser and sign in again before you continue playing.
If something stops working after you change your settings, clearing the cache and signing in again usually resolves it. If it does not, our team can look into it with you.
How to reach us and keep control of your play
If you have a question about this policy, about a particular cookie or about how to change your choices, write to us at support@casinofruitychance.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. Tell us which browser and device you are using and we will go through the settings with you.
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we hold, how it is used and how to ask for a copy, a correction or deletion. Where cookie data is linked to your account, those rights apply to it in the same way.
Cookies are not a substitute for the controls in your account. You can set deposit limits, take a time-out or self-exclude using the tools and limits shown in your account, and those settings stay in place whatever you do with your cookie choices. Free, confidential support is available from GambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline, and GamStop can exclude you from licensed online gambling sites in Great Britain.
We update this policy when the cookies we use change or when the applicable rules change. The date of the most recent update is shown on this page, and we will tell you about material changes in your account or by e-mail.
